Innovation efficiency recruitment technology

Kirstie Kelly

We're always delighted to be involved with events hosted by ThinkTank Series, and never more so than the recent event which really hit the button, in terms of conversation about our world. LaunchPad are often asked by our customers to be involved with re-engineering the wider end to end recruitment process, and therefore to help them consider how they use technology throughout the process.

We've experience in that world too (BL - before LaunchPad!) and encourage customers to think carefully about their key objective then work backwards in terms of choosing and implementing technology. That way, they can sure it delivers the result they need/want, and they don't buy more than is needed!

A point beautifully illustrated in the ThinkTank executive summary...

innovation-efficiency-recruitment-technology report.

Matching your process with the candidate experience - is a key point which was well discussed. And quite rightly so!

Ultimately your recruitment processes needs to reflect key elements of your organisation. Is most of your business done remotely? If so, building engagement over the phone or via Skype is going to be a skill that needs testing; can you conduct all your interviews for such positions remotely? Furthermore, if you’re a business that claims to be at the forefront of technology, your recruitment process needs to back up these claims.

We work with LaunchPad customers to customise the candidate experience, messaging and visual representation of their recruitment process. Something which often goes un-noticed when the pressures of delivering recruitment volumes are upon the team. This careful thinking definitely stands the business in good stead and will ensure their technology supports their hiring agenda - and doesn't hinder it!

And of course we're going to agree to the point well made, about testing culture fit and attributes.

Video interviewing is absolutely the next best thing to meeting someone in person. You’re able to build greater rapport, emphasise your point more clearly, use your body language to gesture appropriately and it also eliminates any ambiguity that might occur if you were just speaking over the phone.

The value surrounding implementation of video screening is becoming increasingly more evident. Providing candidates with the opportunity to articulate beyond simply their test results and CV is an essential part of an honest and collaborative recruiting process.

In LaunchPad world, we think that the best way for Recruitment professionals to procure technology services is....

Exactly the same as with any other services! Be clear about the ROI you need to demonstrate to your business and therefore the value you'll need to gain from changing your current approach. And expect your provider to help you achieve that outcome. As standard!
