The CIPD Annual Conference in Manchester, which attracted hundreds of people from the world of recruitment and HR, was a good opportunity to understand the problems recruiters face and what they think about video interviewing.
HR and Recruitment professionals at the event had a wide range of challenges they were trying to solve, and all of them had a clear focus towards finding partners to help them.
Many people, however, were talking about how to use technology to improve fast decision making during the recruitment process. For many of them, the answer is already here: it is video.
There was significant excitement towards the future of video interviewing and screening as a technology to solve the challenge of identifying culture fit.
Video interviewing is the only recruitment technology that enables recruiters to speed up the interview process, review information and make accurate hiring decisions based on tangible information in a single process.
At the LaunchPad Recruits stand, visitors engaged and were interested in the wide range of case studies which demonstrated how customers use the company’s technology.
The LaunchPad team was delighted to have the opportunity to talk to a wide range of professionals from all over the world. “Visitors to the stand were creative in their thinking of how LaunchPad technology can be used for a range of communication interactions - from learning and development interaction to awards application,” Will Hamilton, CEO of LaunchPad Recruits, said.
Creating a fair and ethical recruiting process was hot topic, with audit trail of both hiring behaviour and evaluation criteria, being seen as a huge differentiation for recruiters.
Functionalities like LaunchPad Select™, Share™, or the new Live ™ functionality, which is currently in beta version, are definitely seen to be a considerable benefit when recruiters are using Skype but feeling that the interaction offered through the chat platform falling a little short for professional use.
This annual event, in which recruiters reflected the importance of video in many recruitment processes, shows that the trend is on the rise. With many recruiters adopting the latest trends, next year’s event promises to be just as interesting.
